Phillip Lindsay, an astrologer and long time student of the Ageless Wisdom, has given us a timely and interesting historical view of these Shamballic visitations. The book is essentially divided into three sections: The first part discusses the myth and legend of Shamballa as found in the Alice Bailey books and those of the Buddhist Kalachakra teachings. The second section, constituting the heart of the book and which I found to be the most fascinating, examined the Shamballa impacts and their effects on history. While avoiding much detail, Lindsay provides an artful synthesis of relevant information together with appropriate quotes from the Bailey material, along with his observations. As an esoteric historian myself, I found his analysis of the key dates from 1825, when we are told that the third direct connection between Shamballa and humanity took place, and other events such as the founding of the Theosophical Society, the emerging of the New Group of World Servers, and the turning point of World War II, through to the most recent Wesak festival to be most interesting and helpful. The final chapters deal with certain astrological considerations related to Shamballa. The book is richly illustrated with astrological charts, and other tabulations, many of which are found in the thirty pages of appendices near the back of the book. There is also a very good glossary of key terms. Perhaps the real value of beautifully produced little book is a reference source for information on Shamballa. Phillip Lindsay, The Shamballa Impacts

This is a really interesting book about Shamballa, the energy of the Will of God, the First Ray. This energy is anchored on Earth etherically at the place called Shamballa in the Gobi Desert, the spiritual centre of our planet. This book describes the specific direct impacts Shamballa energy has had on our Earth over history. The first brought the spark of mind to Humanity, making individualisation possible. Since then there have been four other direct impacts, which have had both destructive and constructive effects. These events are illustrated by reference to specific astrological charts. What is great about this book is the author's ability to present the wide cosmic perspective but also to focus in on specific historical events in explanation. This book was written just before the fifth Shamballa Impact in the year 2000, the effects of which are now being felt, so it will continue to be a useful source of information about the changes that are occurring on our planet over the coming decades. The book also contains very useful appendices on Astrology and on the Seven Rays; as well as a helpful glossary.

Phillip's book is essential reading for the serious student of Ancient Wisdom and the role of Shamballa, 'the centre where the Will of God is known', in the affairs of the world.
