Helpful & Better than Interference Book

This book "The Ulitmate Book on Holding" was useful, well organized and had a lot of the pertinent information our young and experienced officials need to either review their skills or begin the process.
I read this one second simply because I picked it up after the "Ultimate Book on Interference" was already finished. I did not know the Copyright Dates until I began this review.
It is interesting that, and I found it odd, that a more detailed proof-reading did not take place prior to approval, production and publishing of these quick reads to officials and others.
Of course none of us are perfect by any measure, but we are reading it...and not selling or profiting from it. For the cost, one would think that would be important.
Words missing in sentence structures and such deflected from the more useful nature of this books smooth reading. As these simple errors jump off the page at you when you are intently reading an application or explanation of a rule. Those of us who live and breath and actually see every word in every phrase, paragraph or sentence, "because we must" to get the 'spirit and intent' of every rule down - catch these errors - where a non-official might miss them or read right pass them.
This book however (copyright 2010)was much more useful than it's younger brother (copyright 2012). But the same types of errors were found in both as far as sentence construction and such.
Yet, as an official, assigner, secretary, instructor and treasurer I purchased these for my officials to take a look at before the season starts, to bolster their confidence, understanding and application of the rules and I still believe they will be helpful in that process.
I do commend the author for putting them out there for us as they are one more tool and asset for the craft and hope that any future books will be more closely reviewed...by a grass roots official...before production and selling.

Good Tips Even for Veterans

I've been officiating for many years and have attended many sessions on this topic. This book seems to have collected many techniques and identified things to look for that even veteran officials can learn from. I now have new tools in my kit of things to look for and I find myself now looking more intensely at the defense to identify where potential holding is likely to occur. A good book for beginners and veterans as well.
